Looks good - great price for the condition.

I don't think you'll have any hassles selling it - certainly not straight away.

Good luck!

Yes, we are picking up this car on Saturday... its not for me though, its for my friend who has been looking for a car for a while.. after trying so many cars, including a Lexus IS200, I have to say there is nothing like a Galant V6. So hopefully we will have another member from Wales joining us here soon.. he is really keen on the car and is already planning to do some mods! Am sure Kamal will be happy to see it go to someone who will really appreciate the car.

I can imagine how you feel.... same thing happens to me when I sell a car... usually that day I will feel sad and lonely! It helps if you know that the car will be going to someone who will really look after it...

That will be nice. We should also call for a mini meeting for all the members in Wales!

On a different topic, does anyone know how to operate the twin foglights on the Sport? The fog switch will only operate one of them, how about the other one? I tried with signaling and turning the steering as I thought they had that feature to illuminate the road while turning but that didnt work... any ideas?

The outer 'turn lamps' are wired on their own, each one to the relevant side's indicator. So you indicate left, and the outer lamp on that side of the car comes on. Indicator goes off, and the so does that turn light after a second or so. Loads of new Mercs have them - they look like single fogs but they are turn lamps.

One word on the VR4 turn lamps - dealers (ones I've tried) didn't have a clue how to get them to work or wire them up. I managed to get them working with the help and paitence of a top auto electrician, and the excellent and kind help of g6acb and his wiring diargram. You need 2 4700 uF capacitors wired in parallel on each side to power the lamps in the indcator's off cycle.

Have a look at this article I compiled using all the documents and diagrams g6acb kindly passed on to me.

By the way - this is assuming you've got the facelift VR4 style twin lamps in the bumper like on my car in my signature below.

Actually Zaid, thinking of it, you've got the early Sport twin lamps? In that case it would work this way:

Front Fog Switch On = front fog lights on.

The other lamps in the front bumper next to the front fogs = put your full beam on and these lights come on.

The outer ones are driving lamps and come one with the high beam (took me a while to figure this out because there was a dry connection at the relay when i got it).

Philip, Kamal, many thanks for the info. I'll try it today :)

Philip, I tried what you told me (full beam on and fog lights on) today, however they didnt come on. Have I missed something?

Kamal, do you think it might be the relay again? if so which one was it?

Probably, Its attatched to the inner wing to the right of the battery. Take the fuse out of the relay, cleann the connectors and spray wd40. Should come on with the high beam regardless of the fogs being on.
