Time for a social meet I think. Please vote on a date and venue above, and the one with the most votes will be what happens!

The idea is to have a BBQ at a beach, meeting in the early afternoon until it's done :) The choices are on the date and location. I've put up three weekends before Christmas and one after. The locations are either Long Bay Beach where we can book a BBQ spot (hopefully), or Big Bay out Waiuku way http://www.smaps.co.nz/nz/franklin/awhitu/big+bay+road/284/ where we'll have to take a couple of BBQ's with us.

It will be BYO, and families welcome :)

I would suggest Dec 6th the best date simply because it is before the school holidays. As to location, it'd be nice to go for a bit of a drive somewhere and Big Bay will be much more secluded, so it gets my vote

We have our work Christmas do on the 6th, so it is out for me. I agree with Brad on Big Bay.

With so many Christmas parties and things happening at this time of the year, why don't we do it in January?

December 6th is best for me I think, and Big Bay looks like a nice drive (but not fussed on venue) :)

Mmm, can only picture 1 CVR-4 member hovering around his makeshift BBQ in Blackpool... IN DECEMBER! (that's you Kyle ;) )

but seriously...this thread needs to be discussed and confirmed as there seems to be a fairly low response to it.

May I suggest Wenderholm as a possible venue as well? It has a beach, ample grassed areas, plus a boat launching / retrieval station.. (jetty?) The grassed areas are also shielded by trees negating the wind factor.

I'll do the dishes :p

Early January was my pick. Christmas is always so busy.

Since there hasn't been an overwhelming flow of interest (and I realised that Kenny and I are away on the 13th), it will be left until early next year now... unless there's interesting to go ahead for the 6th?
