nooby question on power steerign fluid..

or maybe not depending on how you look at it. but !

noticed my power steering is like way low... i just got told to use gearbox oil..

that true?
and would I use manual or automatic transmission fuild if it is?

ATF is fine to use.

on a side note - you would be amazed how many cars have come in after the dude at the gas station told them to use brake fluid in the power steering!
