help,can't find engine number

hello everybody just brought a 97 vr4 from auction and need the engine no. to regester it but i just can't find it,what does it look like where is it please help??????

It is on the gearbox end of the engine, stamped into the end of the block just below the front head.

I think it will be hidden by the flexible pipe coming up from the intercooler.

still can't find that darn number got the car on tuesday mot'ed it sameday spent the rest of the week looking in the half hour of daylight i get after work!!
all i want to do is drive it!!thanks for the help at least i'm in the right place now..

finally found number horay!!!!!!!!it was a case of shinein torch from diffrent angles to see it also removed the air box and battery to get my head right in there,hopefully be on the road next week!!!!can't wait....big up the nick mann top bannana
