As usual I am having problems. /pan /pan It seems that my Emanage Ultimate is a bit of a fussy piece of kit. However, I put a lot of effort into installing it, I have managed to understand a bit about how it works and so I think I'm going to stick with it.

Like all of these things it is really good to have information collated and shared in one place and I am hoping that those of you that are using Emanage will subscribe to this thread and share whatever you can. Espoecially Valmes and others who have more advanced understanding.

First input from me is that there are a couple of issues with the build of the units - see here.

I had this problem but Orionn20 kindly soldered it back in for me - see here.

Second is that software updates need to be the same on both laptop and EMU in order for them to even communicate - see here

http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/forced-induction-nitrous/120610-need-help-e-manage-ultimate.html

I found this out today. My car laptop crashed last week so I bought a new Mini laptop and loaded the Emanage program. Thought that it would work fine but it didn't so I am now running through the different update versions to see which will allow communication. A very painful exercise.

Thanks to Wodj for suggesting this post. /thankyou

Relevant to this thread and very interesting. Something I would like to do once my current issues are sorted.

So have u lost all your data ?

Or can you download from the EMU back to your new Lappy ?

Or do u have it backed up somewhere ?

Everything can be downloaded from MOHD but the lappy must have exact same update as the EMU or it will not communicate. And I cannot see which version the EMU has without communication to the lappy.
So it's trial and error.

BTW, did you post the disk ?

If you mean maps then I still have them. Hard disk from old lappy is with a specialist and I'll know tomorrow if they are able to extract anything from it.

You can update the E-manage with the new software without having to worry about what ver is on it.

I've done 3 e-manages total and never had any issues with upgrading them
