OH WOW!!!:afro: :afro:

You've got a very interesting sounding car by the looks of it. My word... one of the Original Rally-Spec VR-4s!!:afro:

Welcome to the forums and yes please do keep us up to date with pictures and what have you.

We have a lot of info on the 8G VR-4s (1996-2003), but we do also have some knowledge of the 6G (1988-1992) cars too and a few fans on here, like me! :scholar: So yeah, ask away and we'll do our best to help - I presume you're planning to rally it?

/EDIT: And yes, as Richy says, there's a number of us who'd probably lend a hand and a spanner if you require! :)

Thanks for the responses kieran and Richy.
The car was used in the middle East and then in Ireland ,has been a Rally Car all its life ,I have not got hold of all the History File yet ,it will be fitted with an Evo 3 engine as the previous owner is fitting the Group A engine into an EVO 3 ,it also has standard Front Brakes however the rest is Group A.Shell is good but just a little cosmetics to sort out.I will keep a picture diary of the build however don't expect fast progress as I only got it for a long term ,keep me away from the TV ,Project,The Escort took 2 years to do but at least I wont have to do any welding this time ,the Escort was like a rotten pear.
I am looking for any tech specs of the early Galants and any pictures of the Ralliart Cars as I will want to replicate the Works Cars colours, can you still get the stripeing Kits ?.
Also if anyone has any Competition Car parts I will be interested.
Car will be used on Tracks and Rallys hopefully if I ever finish it LOL

Sounds like an interesting project. Good luck with it.

Love anything to do with the Galant and its past ralling and hopefully future, from now on.

Good luck with the car - and what a great buy! The 6Gs are great, great, cars having owned a stanard GLSi coupe.

Reckon the history file will have any official photos of the car in action?

In the meantime, any photos you've got would be great!

Here is my street legal 1992 E38A VR4 RS.

1992 being the very very LAST of the JDM (officially ended production in 1991 for JDM models).

@skids-rallying: welcome (from another 6G enthausiast). Besides this forum there are a few other forums with a vast source of information on these 6G turbo'd cars: http://www.galantvr4.org.au

@Osiris: Is that a true AMG engine with the VR4 turbo on it? (a hybrid so to speak) or is the spark plug cover just taken from the AMG (N/A) 4G63 tuned engine?

It's just a spark cover :P

I thought so (there are only 886 of those AMG tuned 4G63 engines built so REALLY REALLY rare stuff). Anyways: great car!!!

Just a little bump on this thread, picked up the spare (GLS 2.O Ltr )car,Evo 3 engine and the van load of spares for the VR4 today .I will try and get some pics up of the progress later this week.I would apreciate any advice with regards competition
suspension and brakes that were fitted to the EG6 VR4 .
I also got the Group A Adjustable Pedal Box today ,does anyone have any interior and under bonnet ,suspension pictures of the works cars or any Rally Gallants.

hi,

New to the board, but a 6g junkie and a long time member of www.galantvr4.org. If you have look there i scanned the homologation papers and you'll find loads of information on the rallycars there. not sure if yours is group "A" or group "n".

But looks like a clean shell.

There are a couple of works ralliart cars floating round the uk. Mrgravel on gvr4.org has one of the nicer ones (J14MRE).
