Hi chaps!

I've owned a few motors in my time, & so can appreciate a good car when I see one! The Galant is just that.

I bought my first Galant a few years ago, a '98 g8 V6-24 finished in dark green. I'd always fancied one when I saw this Galant in the Autorader was only in Cornwall - so not too far to go. It was bought the next day!

Here is a quick pic....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v314/garethtaylor/GalantExterior2.jpg

Ever since selling it I've regretted it, even though what I really wanted was the "Sport" version, or indeed the "VR4" :pimp2:

Just before Christmas I happen to notice a rather nice Galant Sport for sale locally, in Torquay (South Devon) so I went to have a looksie. A deal was done shortly afterwards & I picked her up on the 2nd January:happy:

In brief;

Galant Sport
2.5 V6-24

Registered September 2000 / X-Plate

106,000 Miles
Full MSH upto 80k then private garage thereafter
2 Previous Owners
Only done 25k in the last 6 years

I've got to say that I really enjoy being the behind the wheel. The fact that it's a rare sight on British roads is a huge bonus!

Here are some pics I've taken in the few days I've owned her....

Maybe a VR-4 will be next.... hope so! But for now I'm going to enjoy this one.

Ooh! Looking very nice, and some quality photos - look like they've come straight out of the brochure!!

Glad you like the car - the V6s sound lovely.

They all look like they are from a brochure. Is photography just a hobby or your job?

I'm sure you'd be more than welcome to take some photo's of some other club members cars, and it even looks like you'd be able to teach the 'clean crew' a few things on cleaning their cars.

What a nice welcome! - Thanks very much :chugchug:

Glad you like the photos & I'd be very pleased to see one (or more lol) gracing the 2010 VR-4 Club Calender.

Unfortuanately my Galant Sport isn't perfect, well it seems to be mechanicaly but the bodywork does have a couple of minor marks here & there which I hope to rectify. Will look geat then!

A bit more background on me;

I live approx' 10 miles South of Exeter, Devon. I am 26 years young & used to be a CAD Technician for the Civil & Structural engineering design trade (Read "Technical Drawing").

However, I've always had an interest in Photography so a while back I decided to take things a bit further. I've recently started up (just before Christmas) a small Photography business with a female friend where we take on all kinds of commisions/projects. We've already got two Weddings booked for this year!

It's early days yet but we are looking to get a webiste up & running soon, but for now if you'd like any more info I've knocked THIS (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v314/garethtaylor/FlyerJPEG.jpg) up. (Note. You may need to click on the image to enlarge to correct size)

I am currently studying at Plymouth aiming towards a degree in Film Production, so cover around 80 miles a day up & down the A38!!

------------------------------------

@ Spirit - We'd love to be commissioned for the EVO! PM me with what sort of shots you're looking for (I'd guess similar to those of my Galant?) & we'll go from there!

------------------------------------

Thanks again for the warm welcome chaps

(I've just read the above, & I appologise if it looks like I've just joined up to promote myself - I've not! I genuinely am here for the cars)

Absolutely love the pictures, has given me the urge to try to take some pictures of my own car (apart from it's freezing outside!). Also good to see another Devonian on the site. I'm from Saunton near Barnstaple!

Sorry fella, I did read your post & ment to check my photos for data.... but forgot/pan

I always shoot in full manual mode & for all the interior photos I used the "bulb" setting (Holds the exposure for as long as you keep your finger on the shutter button)

No flash used for anything.

I always shoot in full colour & convert to B&W later if I feel the need.

Also, unless conditions force otherwise I always keep the ISO to 100.

X-Ref Data as follows:

B&W Photo of car at an angle - 50mm @ f/1.8, 1/50 Sec' Exposure, ISO 100

On the second interior shot - 11mm @ f/5.6, 31 Sec' exposure, ISO 100

Again, sorry if I apeared to ignore you - wasn't my intention

Cheers Minter. No prob mate. Like I say no photographer and havent done anything special. Only got a small samsung of which Iam trying to do abit of ground work on until I can get used to this digital stuff.

Saving up for a Good Canon DSLR, from what I hear for what I do the Canon 1000 will be a good starter. Their could be better, but as I say for what I do this seems to be the best all rounder.

Ill try those settings that you have mentioned and compare them with the stuff I can hammer out of this little sucker that I have.

Cheers minter, if you ask anyone who meets me at a club meeting Ive be told Iam never forgotten. All for the wrong reasons.:runkest: /Grrr

Ill try and have a crack with the manul mode get ait adventurace
