red super galant would be least common, with the legnum being second.

The one above was listed on TM classifieds for a while. It might be worth messaging the seller to see what happened to it. Very nice looking example that one.

bradc
05-01-2009, 07:51 PM
Yeah I know about that one, but it really must have a boot.

Johny, the one in your avatar, that was on trademe for a while, do you remember any details about it?

scott.mohekey
05-01-2009, 07:52 PM
Wasn't that one in Nelson?

bradc
05-01-2009, 08:01 PM

Goku
05-01-2009, 08:27 PM

Joanne
05-01-2009, 09:53 PM
You could always repaint one red

Goku
05-01-2009, 10:17 PM
But that would defeat the purpose.... plus you'd have to paint the headlights red and get the purple hi vis dash

bradc
05-01-2009, 11:15 PM
Plus more cost and hassle.

Johny
05-01-2009, 11:54 PM
the one in my avatar wasnt on trademe but autotrader was in nelson had like 75000 km on it and they wanted something like 13995 for it or something

Johny
05-01-2009, 11:56 PM

Zitchu

You could always chase the one here down again and ask em haha.

Wow,a third one for your collection.

bradc
06-01-2009, 06:21 AM
Zitchu - that was a Galant though. Was fun chasing her though :) Was down your way over the weekend, didn't stay for long though.

The other option is a May 2000 onwards VR-4 with Recaro seats, but those are hard to find.

Ohh wow and low km's too.

Unfortunately our lesbian leader we had last time around disliked cars and made it impossible to import just about anything more than 5 years old.

scott.mohekey
08-01-2009, 10:03 PM
Import it as a 'pile of metal, plastic, and rubber' and then register it as a low volume vehicle?

bradc
08-01-2009, 10:16 PM
It would be easier to buy that and an auto red prefacelift and swap across the firewall plate

Johny
08-01-2009, 10:18 PM
farm register it and use it for milk runs lol

you mean like the vin plates?

scott.mohekey
08-01-2009, 10:40 PM
Yep, and the chassis number stamped on the firewall.

Johny
08-01-2009, 10:46 PM
so would you have to physically cut it out? lol
in the hillman the vin plate is held in by two rivets... lol

scott.mohekey
08-01-2009, 10:49 PM
You have to cut a fair whack off the top of the firewall out so you can hide the welds. Pretty much the top panel (part the wiper motor and solenoids are mounted to) from end to end.

Johny
08-01-2009, 10:51 PM
sounds like fun lol

I am sure the Nats will get around to banning stuff and clamping down on motorists too, just give them time. Radar detectors will soon be history and the breath and blood alcohol limit will be a lot lower too. And no more driving and talking on the cell phone or texting either.

scott.mohekey
08-01-2009, 10:56 PM
Compulsory public transport for all?

bradc
08-01-2009, 11:04 PM
I have no problems with the alcohol limit being a lot lower. The radar detector ban was already underway from the lesbian goverment.

Talking on the phone while driving is dangerous and should be banned, texting is even worse...

Yeah true. My point was that the Nats are probably going to crack down on motorists just as much as Auntie Helen did. And being more on the side of big business (i.e. the car companies and new car dealers), it wouldn't surprise me if they ban used imports completely at some point.

I think that there would be a revolution if they tried that. It would put a reasonably priced car beyond the reach of most people.

On the subject of drink driving limit, I'd be happy if they lowered the limit to zero - perhaps that way people won't be tempted to have "just one" which invariably becomes several.

That said, it won't stop any of the idiots out there who have 10+ convictions.../Hijack

Problem with that is it means that some people drinking the night before would still technically be over many hours later/next morning...

That is true but it's still possible even with current BA limit so it's a moot point really.

Not particularly, it's not as likely now, but put it to zero, and then nobody will be coming into work on Monday morning :P

Ryan

I disagree. It is highly likely given that the limit is only 1 x standard (4% ABV) drink.
