Hey folks!
Given my propensity for parking on the laptop, and mrs elnevio's propensity for parking on Facebook, I have decided that we should get a second laptop, mainly for her to use at the same time as I am online. We figure we're more likely to talk on MSN than if we're sat next to each other on the sofa... :thinking:
Now, seeing prices of new laptops around, I think if I look hard enough, I'll find a decent enough one in the £50-100 range. Have been looking on eBay, and one example is such as this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=190278842684
We don't need much in the way of software, and my anti-virus has three user licences. I'd install Firefox, and the laptop would pretty much only be used for internet use on our wireless network.
As long as it's fast enough, can stream videos (when my broadband connection allows it!), can play a lot of the more memory-and-CPU-intensive flash applications now coming out (e.g. Facebook Sscrabble!), then I think something with specs like this should do:
Win XP
500MHz+ processor
256MB+ memory
Wireless (built-in or card)
So, question one, does anyone out there have something suitable that they would be willing to sell me?
Question two, I think that eBay one I've already mentioned is a bit of a bargain - any thoughts?
