Transfer Box oil? [Archive] - Club VR-4 Forums

Hi guys,
Am posting for my fiance on his account - he's currently fitting a replacement gearbox into his 97 legnum auto, he's asked me to find out what oil goes in the transfer box. Can anyone help urgently? Thanks

same as the rear diff gear set.

severe gear SAE 70W-90 as standard.

Or SAE 70W-140 for the more extreme applications, if you regularly tow a heavy trailer or caravan.

The filler plug is near the prop shaft on the off side off the car

There is a plug on the right hand side (as you look at the front of the car) about half way up in the center.

it is something like a 22-24mm spanner required from memory

Thats for the drain Dave the fill is 17mm.

you are so right.

if you tried filling from the drain plug you wouldn't get much in would you.

my memory is now jogged, cheers rich, which reminds me i should really do mine soon! and the rear diff oils, it has been a while since dooing those.

my mechanic do the all flush sistem , the ayc diff , and the hidraulic , 4 quarts in total

remember its all sistem ayc oil , and hidraulic pump oil
