Hi guys,
This afternoon whilst shopping around for a pair of front tyres I noticed the Battery & Oil warning lights appeared on the instrument cluster whilst ignition is on/driving.
Then, after having new tyres fitted the ABS light has also lit up :inquisiti
Last night I got into some snow/ice & had a lot of traction problems...... is this the cause?
Cheers

Dodgy battery / alternator perhaps? See if you can get a voltmeter across the battery when off, and when engine running. It's an easy check!

I took the car to an Auto Electrician, they charge £30 p/h & ran it through the computer 3 times over 2 hours. The cheapest Alternator comes in at £226 then there is the fitting of this of £80, Total - £366 but I got him to knock it down to £310 all in.
I did try to find one myself but to no avail' & I didn't really want to fit a secondhand one as it could go again straight away.

***UPDATE***
I picked the car up today from the AutoElectricans after a call to say the new alternator had arrived & had been fitted.
I'm pleased to say that everything is now perfect again. I.e; all dash warning lights are out & car drives/performs fine.
So, just as a heads up - if you're Galant starts to Rev by itself and/or has the ABS, OIL LOW, SRS, BATTERY lights lighting up then get the Alternator checked.
