My much loved Gallant made it through the first two floods but I dipped more than the headlights in the third and therefore missed the meeting I thought i couldn't possibly miss!

Insurance company is talking write-off and will probably offer next to nothing for it.

As I live on the Isle of Man and the car is still (literally) in Suffolk would anyone like to consider it for spares or repair.

103K on the clock.

Regards to all.

Sorry to hear this - hopefully the insurance co won't mess you around too much.

I imagine someone might be interested - perhaps some more spec would be useful? Model, etc.?

Equippe won't have leather - not even elegance did as standard. My 01 had plain black interior dash set.

If it's a manual then be aware that the 3rd and 4th gears are longer than the V6 box, but might make an interesting eco mod for a V6.

Ummm, there's a couple of errors there Isaac:book:

Brochures for both the 1st facelift and 2nd Facelift (Dated 09/99 and 12/01 respectively) show that the V6-24 (Later the 'Elegance') had leather seats as standard. However you're correct that the Equippe didn't.

I haven't got a brochure that shows the 1st facelift GDI ratios, however by the 2nd facelift the GDI only had a taller 4th gear (0.970 vs 1.030 in the V6). 3rd was shorter in the GDI than either the 2.0 or the V6 (1.666 for the GDI vs 1.379 for the V6 and the 2.0). Final drive was the same across all models.
