Hi I have another question, sorry.

I recently had my galant v6 service at my local mitsubishi dealer and it needed a steering rod replaced and something with the exhaust inlet manifold.

Anyway the question is with the steering rod i was quoted £150 for the part does this seeme reasonable - I have been told that a steering rod is the same a track rod and that they should be nothing like £150.

Am i being ripped off???

Thanks
Angela

The steering rod and track rod end are 2 different parts . I would think the dealer price would be correct for that part. They are available from Caamskill at a far better price

Could be a steering rack end?

The one for the VR-4 is less than £35 from Camskill: http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m22b0s1402p7128

A VR-4 track-rod end from Camskill is only about £12.

I wouldn't have thought the V6 ones would be much different price-wise. They may even share this part - hopefully another member may know the answer to this bit?

Nope they are idenical parts, even from the blue print or greenline??? are about £34, and track rod ends around £12....Bear in mind though that is each.
£150 should cover 2 new rack ends, 2 track rod ends, fitting and tracking, not for one bit.
The lower arms are about that from mitsi, alternatively the no oem part is £108
IIRC that is.

Ok - what is blue print and greenline are they some type of shop/part dealer?

The £150 i was quoted was solely for the parts and an additional £115 for fitting and vat./Grrr

Last bit what does this mean "The lower arms are about that from mitsi, alternatively the no oem part is £108 IIRC that is"
