View Full Version : Site Improving?

Not sure if it's just me.
But tonight, or at least this early morning, the Club site seems to be back close to it's normal speed.

Have the hosting company's 'improvements' finally hit?
Or is that there are only 13 real bodies accessing it right now.

Oh and the shop is still knackered.

Yeah, I've noticed its faster too.

Thought so, hopefully it lasts.

Also thought that with all the site bashing, I should say when things are getting a bit better, long may it last.

Well untill the new Hosting company is on-line:evilgrin:

There is something a bit wierd going on on the backend. We seem to be getting loads of large core files being generated as a result of some application crashing. This was sucked up our disk usage quota and one consequence of that would have been the site running slower.

I spotted this last night after receiving an automated disk space quota full warning message.

I believe I have removed all of the garbage files now and our disk space usage is back down to a normal level. However, I am still not happy until I understand the root cause of the issue ...

The shop still isnt working. Any issue that the garbage files are coming from there?

We've got the new server installed and commissioned but now starts the long task of uploading the current site, testing it and then upgrading the forum software to the latest version.

Any idea of a time scale on the complete upgrade?

All things going to plan that is.

I am hoping that we will be up and running on the new host by the end of the month.

Na it is still slow. It is faster than when we first come here. It can take me on a good day 10 seconds to load, but normally its 20-30 seconds to load a page.....very frustrating, when everything else takes as long as takes to click on it.

I have 10MB cable connction BTW.

Still in existence, AFAIK!

Hopefully all will reappear with the new server/host/vB upgrade - coming soon to a CVR4 forum near you!! :deal2:

Hey #1 =)

I find the Flashchat has a good 10 second delay.

Sorry, #510 will have to do! :P

Yes, the chat's a known issue, but most likely down to the slow service from our current server/host combo.

Expect speed to improve dramatically once the new combo is in place. :D
