Those aren't chips, they are simply a resistor and aren't worth anything.

REAL ECU's such as MAP ECU, Autronic and Emanage can increase your power by 50-100hp

^^^^^^^^^^^

As above

But to add:

If your filter is an uprated panelfilter, then ... Good Job /yes

If its a cone or mushroom ? then bin it !

What they said!

Plus, bin the idea of the resistor ('chip' - makes me larf...) - more likely to do damage!!

Easy extra power = boost control

Either get an Electronic Boost Controller or a Mechanical Boost Controller (aka Manual Boost Controller). EBC is the expensive option, but allows you much greater control, whereas the MBC is the cheapo option and is a bit more 'agricultural'! I have an MBC. I also have an equation: MBC = :d!

I wouldn't take any more advice from that source if I were you. One thing I have learnt in the short time I have been a member is -- only take advice from this site:scholar: ---any thing else is either hearsay, made up or just plain wrong.

Just to add to all this that an MBC is NOT a Manual boost controller (as I keep seeing) but a MECHANICAL one.

So a bleed valve will deliver an increase in boost, but generally doesn't do much for spool times. A proper ball+spring mechanical device (Dawes device springs to mind) will pretty much beat any electronic boost controlller for spool time, however it is much less useful at controlling boost spikes.

I've run both, and whilst it can be a bit of a faff getting the MBC setup "just so" that it works well regardless of the temperature (It doesn't know how to compensate like an electronic device) the spool time really is unbeatable.
