I recon we should have it for VR4's only. Or at least have a VR4 only section.

Having an EVO or Skyline or whatever at the top seems a bit pointless.

Does anyone agree??

Oh and should timeslips be compulsary?? I'm not saying anyone is exaggerating, but who knows??

Forgot to mention that at the weekend I ran the G-tech whilst on the strip at Santa Pod. The 2 runs that I did the G-Tech was out by 0.01 secs for both runs! Was much better that I thought it would be.

However, I did take the time to set it up to read 0.0 at the start of the run.

I do agree mat, its far too easy to buy something that isnt vr4 to sit on the top of the leaderboard. Otherwise anyone with a decent bike would be up at the top, seeing as a gsxr750 will do a 1/4 in 10.5 @142 according to book values.
Only seems fair that its for VR4's.

We've had these discussions before and I think last time we pruned the stoopid entries.

I'm not a huge fan of making timeslips compulsory, however I would like to see some kind of proof. A photo of the car crossing the line etc could be acceptable.

I don't see there being a problem with making timeslips compulsory

If the Person doing the run has a achieved a time they are very happy with, i would say they would deffo be collecting there slips /yes

And if they have collected it, then it should be easy enough to submit it ..

I for 1 think it's a good idea /yes

Timeslips should be compulsory IMO, and yes it should only be open to Galants and Legnums /yes

Then there should be 3 databases..

1 for Timeslipped runs for Galant/Legnums

2. Non timeslipped Galant/Legnums

3. Any others timeslipped or not

Or just keep it simple and you must have a Galant/Legnum and a timeslip to post up a time - easy

The reason I am not a huge fan of making timeslips compulsory is for people like, but not limited to, valmes. He has videos, photos etc of his runs, but no timeslip.

So we stop him playing our game simply because they don't have a printer at his track? Seems a bit unfair....

Nutter_John
12-03-2009, 11:11 PM
OK how about timeslip or alternate proof ( photo , video etc etc )

We can look into this a bit more when the site has been migrated but it looks like you can make ETs of 11.99 or quicker to require a timeslip in the latest version of the times slips database.

Removing entries from the existing database might be difficult though as this is really down to what people have entered in their profile.

would an FTO-VR4 count and what about Galant V6-24V and Galant VR4 fwd's :D

some people replace the turbos on the engines, I just replaced the whole car and left the engine :D

I think anything with a 6A13 engine should count

orionn2o
13-03-2009, 09:30 AM
I think if we're going to allow anything with a 6A13 engine then we're going to need more than one table !

Only reason in my view is that Richard may run a 12 or 11 sec which will put him at the top of the table. But he's not the fastest Galant/Legnum. He's the fastest with a 6A13TT engine.

So perhaps we should have a Galant/Legnum table (bearing in mind they are all the same approximate weight, size etc)

And then have a special table for people with FTO's, or go karts with a 6A13TT engine!

And thats it. I don't really see the point in us including EVO's, Skylines, MR2's on the VR4 table as they're just not comparable.

Oh oh I did just have a thought:

If people object to having more than one table, then we could have one table with all the cars on and have it filterable so it can pick everyone in the club, or all the VR4's, or all the EVO's or at the 6A13TT derivatives etc etc. That wouldnt be too hard to code

Nutter_John
13-03-2009, 09:59 AM
I think anything with a 6A13 engine should count

So i go out and buy a 6g vr4 with a 4g63 , fully rebuild it as a drag slag pushing 900+ bhp and you now saying that I can not compete in the table cos I ain;t got a 6a13 !!! , you can not just make a statement like that Brad as it rules out so many cars including the 2ltr 4pots

No the rules need to be defined so that there are multiple classes and as Matt says a filter can be setup so you can eliminate the people with better cars ( evo's , Skylines , Fords) from the general view

I guess theres a few ways of looking at this.

Whilst Nutter or Diddington Wizard could come along with their evo's and say "oh look i've got the fastest time on the board " for example, I imagine the first question that most members will ask on here is "who has the fastest VR4 though" and more ultimately "how does my car compare to the fastest one?"

followed by the classic of "how much do I need to spend to get mine to go that quick?"

zentac
13-03-2009, 12:23 PM

It should be ONE table with multiple fields and filters so that we can pick out exactly what we want. That would be much easier to navigate rather than having multiple tables, some that may only contain one or two cars in it.

Just to clear this up for any newbies , BDA's frankemlegnum recorded a 12.41 at Santa pod and yours did a 12.49 so I make yours the second fastest

Both cars had an MOT and Tax so technically they were road legal at the time of there run

Ignoring all of that, i think that time slips if possible should be required. I have all my timeslips from every run i have done.

someone metioned valmes, he no longer owns a VR4 so that issue doesnt really apply anymore.

It Should be for all cars, after all John for example paid his 20quid so as **** of a privalege as it is, he should be able to add his caar to the 1/4 mile base.

A filter for people who only care about VR4 times should be able should be available.

I want other cars in the database. Mainly so i can laugh or cry when im quicker or slower than somthing else. Evo's skylines im quiet interested in wether im faster or slower than them.
