whats everyones opinion of disabling negative rep points?

Does having negative rep points not increasingly limit the ability for that person to post? If so, I think that's probably a good thing. I also think that the mods (or chief mods ;) ) should retain the ability to remove negative rep points that have been given if the general consensus or feeling is that they were awarded unfairly.

-ve rep is there for a reason, I think we should keep it! However I think the right to appeal should be granted for unjust or malicious comments!

I agree that the negative rep shold remain and an appeal process be available to remove unjust comments. Maybe people can PM any mod with the info and then they post it on the mod forum for a vote on removal of the comment/point ?

Any news? The threats of my imminent and most gory death seem not to have materialised! I can safely say that no one has attempted to slit and/or eat me recently, so I think the Negs can be removed! They're no longer making me quake in fear! :-D

i have a question how do i get rid of my neg points that someone gave me that i think was unjust (and that i dont even get to find out who gave me them) as myself and the other member have met and things have been sorted out as a wee understanding and brushed under the carpet so to speak

After posting in this thread, the prat saw my message and left me a nice little message. :laugh: shows how often I look at my CP.

On another forum I go to, it simply has 'Warning Points', you hit 5 and you're banned for two weeks.
Obviously it can be adjusted but it's a better way of taming things down if it ever comes to it. Normal forum users cannot give warning points.
