how about making the following info mandatory to cut down the usual "where are you?" "whats the mileage?" "how much ?" posts etc.

blagged from another site - they insist on this info or the ad gets pulled - makes browsing the ads so much easier;
in the header -
YEAR CAR MODEL PRICE LOCATION

EG - 1983 Sierra XR4i £1400 Crinkley Bottom

Details required in the posting;
Model:

Year:

Mileage:

Tax:

MOT:

Pics:

Location:

Price:

Contact details:

what do yous think?

Yes that's a good idea. Somebody should do something about that.

Oh, right!
:D

It might be that all cars for sale have to be submitted through a web form or something, although if we're all sensible enough, a regular FS thread should be enough, but with a few rules in place like the ones you suggest. I'll put it in front of the committee. :thumbsup:

good idea, it would save people saying they will buy something then finding out the seller is based in scotland when you are based in kent.

It would help make things easier to filter through the ads, but why does the price need to be in the thread title.

This can't be edited by the poster, only committee (AFAIK) - so just as someone from Kent wouldn't bother looking at an ad for a car in Scotland, I wouldn't look at an ad for a car priced at 5k.... but the seller may have dropped the price

Unless the committee are happy to keep updating post titles with the correct price.

And while were moaning - Nutter John avatar and sig... I'm all for having 'fun bags' wobbled in front of my face - but not @ work eh?

what about having time limit on ads as well, there are so many old ads that get offered up when you search for stuff. surely a month is long enough for any add.
you might be able to find stuff still for sale.

if the seller hasn't sold the stuff by the month time limit or only some of the stuff has been sold then it can get relisted by the seller. It would keep the for sale/wanted section much more tidy and user friendly.
