Just testing the waters at this stage but am interested in selling my car. As most of you NZ members will know, it is a PFL /AT white Legnum - 1996 (originals!) :)

IMPORTANT SERVICE / MAINTENANCE RELATED STUFF

Owned since Feb 24th, 2007

166 000km Total Mileage Cambelt / water pump last changed @ 116 000km, as indicated by (faded now) engine bay sticker. Spark plugs last changed @ 155 000km

EBC "Green Stuff" brake pads (all round) fitted @ 140 000km. New OEM front discs fitted same time. Rear discs still from when I bought the car in 2007. Brake fluid not changed.... Power steering rack removed and servied by MMC Simon Lucas (North Shore) @ 140 000km. Lower right front control arm replaced at the same time.

AT rebuilt @ 135 000km (at a cost of $3547 by A-automotive in Glenfield)
AT was also fitted with ATF cooler and filled with Castrol T-95 fluid. @ 20 000km covered before fluid change. Refilled with Amsoil ATF @ 155 000km. AT filter NOT replaced because couldn't get to it and didn't have one to hand. Complete flush performed before refilling. No transmissions issues, apart from being an automatic, it still gives reliable service.

Transfer case & rear diff oil changed round about same time using Amsoil heavy gear oil 80W90 (normal 75W stuff wasn't available from the store at the time).

Power steering fluid replaced @ time of FMIC fitment which is approx 155 000km

Engine oil is changed just before, or on, 5000km at all times with either 0/5/10W30 fully synthetic - Either MMC or Amsoil 0/5/10W30 or Royal Purple 10W30.

New Monroe "reflex" shock absorbers fitted 2 weekends ago. Lower left front control arm replaced with part from 2001 Legnum.

GO FASTER BITS (not many)

* Ralliart panel filter (10 000km old and clean)
* Full exhaust system: 2.5" downpipes into 3" straight through exhaust with discreet 3" tip. Recently fitted - probably also 10 000km old.
* Facelift ECU from 1998 AT
* TurboSmart mechanical boost controller or "Boost Tee" @ 14psi
* No name brand 600x300x76 FMIC, semi-scraped but still looks new.

Was dyno'ed @ 167kW@wheels @12.7 psi a little while back. One of the plugs was "rooted" so i changed them which may I believe accounted for its relatively poor figures on the day.

COSMETICS:

There are various scrapes mostly - only very slight ding that I know of:

* Front corner RH side there is a slight terracotta type scrape
* Front bumper in general = somewhat scratched - will provide photos on request
* Right hand driver mirror = bit dodgy. Mirror glass itself adjusts on command within the mirror housing but actual mirror housing will have difficulty retracting towards the body on command (by hand its easy!). Mirror assembly will blow towards car @ 150km/h+
* Couple of rust sposts on leading edge of bonnet above headlights from stones or whatever...
* Put it this way, the paintwork isn't the same as it was in 1996 but it's not a writeoff!

FUEL

* Normally run on BP Ultimate 98 RON
* Mobil 8000 Syntium
* Gull (E10) fuel for past 1 x tank (consists of 90% 95RON fuel + 10% Ethanol)

WHEELS & TYRES

* Standard sh!tty 5 spoke PFL wheels
* Reasonably new Hankook Optimo tyres

I won't lie... I don't drive like a saint ... but then I don't drive like a criminal all the time either.

Well, I can't legally drive it till September plus I don't really need a car at all! I'm close to work, shops, everything... Could better use that car money for say... a house instead - something which doesn't depreciate as much as a car + you can live in it!

Well - after discussion with Mission Control (wife), it has been decided not to sell it which I am pleased with.

Just wish it had a leather interior and no woodgrain centre console thing, then I'd be happy.

Or perhaps had a clutch and was Turquoise or Purple?

So you would prefer white over those colours? :o

Some people happen to like white you know! And yes, I'd prefer it over WT any day.

White is good because when a white car gets old, it looks less less dated than other colours.

Some people say its "the same colour as appliances". But I see most appliances now are silver. Whats the most popular colour for new cars now.......?

I'd repaint it bayside blue or that lovely grey/green that the Nur's came in.
