Peter - do you have a rear strut brace fitted? And if so, do you find it makes much difference?

Couple more questions for you, or anyone else with one:

Can the load cover still be used as normal with the strut brace in place?

I assume that there is some cutting of the boot carpet required to install the endplates?

TIA! :)

I have a greddy strut brace and a couple of squeaks in the rear disappeared after fitment. It does feel better cornering as well
Load cover works fine
Greddy needed a couple of slots cut in the plastic cover that the load cover slots into.
Fits just as bernmc article. I have seen a couple where no cutting is required but I can't remember the manufacturer.

Rear strut brace makes a deffinately noticable difference on a Legnum.

A recommended mod :)

Just make sure you carry some tools so you can remove the bar if you ever need to fit any thing big into the boot

Cheers PT!

Means I won't have to cut any holes in my boot liner.

Mine was a big improvement too, made the rear feel a lot harder around bumpy corners. You only need a 14mm spanner to undo the middle section on the cusco one, so it's fairly easy to remove.

Thanks peter,

I have added a pic of the completed items.

My legnum arrived from japan with the strut tower covers removed (I think they also cover the top of the seat belts, but it looks like it would be a clip on plastic cover.

You could either remove this or just cut a window so it clears the brace.

They appear to be EXACTLY the same apart from the finish... Hope there are no intellectual property rights issues!

I assure while they look the same the profiles are not exact.

They are a tooooootallly different colour too...

I also hope there are no IP rights issues! :P

Did you notice a difference with it installed Gly ?

um just looking closely um i dont seem to notice any differenc ein the 2,please could you detail and show us please, the law is 10% difference to qualify for any copyright infringments and colour does not class as one of those fields, theyr simply zink/electroplated correct??, so possible calcide will be visible after a while correct?, other than that WELL DONE,very nice job, did you make it yourself or did you farm the job out?

The new run has the tags set back about 5-10mm deeper on the ring and the extended part the bar bolts onto is also longer as a result. I dunno if that counts as 10%. I had a revised design I tried in between the first batch and this one which was the whole end bent out of a single profile but it didn't fit :-(

The bar is completely different.

I would be surprised if it calcides inside a car but it may happen.

Ends:
made a drawing got laser cut, got bent by a supplier, got welded up by someone in our workshop after hours, then plated by a supplier.

Bars:
Drew, ordered steel, cut myself, got welded up as above, powder coated by supplier.

:-)

Ohh... 7 left.

yep, the rear end is more ridged, and stable round corners, much more predictible,

awsum thanx for that man,um yea the calcide will e a problem down the track as cars get moisture inside, obviously not like outside weathering tho,but yea
i might be keen on 1 if the new sub box design wont be in the way, otherwise ill have to custom build a bar :-(

I'd really urge any NZ members to get one of these - as Carsten says these bars are close to $400 from Japan and good luck getting someone to fabricate these locally for the same price.

edit: Just for information here is current exchange rate:

Currency conversion: $248.61 NZD = $195.00 AUD

The exchange rate for this purchase is 1 NZD = 0.784361AUD
