can this ecu be mapped using ecu-tek software? can anyone confirm this?

To the best of my knowledge, the answer is no. Certainly EcuTek themselves don't support this, or the mapping of the Evo 4/5 (which are very similar) to my knowledge.

The EvoScan/ECU Flash/ OpenECU stuff is currently looking the closest to fulfilling your wishes: the Russians have licked it, but they're not telling us how it's done.

ECUTek does flash evo 5/6 ecus

My apologies. It definitely doesn't do 4's though, which is near as dammit what we have.
It may (eventually) do the Facelift ECU, but as there aren't that many VR4s (compared to the Evos) looking to remap, then I doubt there is much call for EcuTek to implement it.

Joined up and PM'd the chap who has made a single post professing to have successfully reflashed a FL ECU (2002). Have asked him to either tell me or join CVR4 and share the wealth.

I guess it's not 2002 ECU, as far as I know, 2002 ECU using 7203 CPU(same as EVO6 TME), and it can't be flashed at the moment.

These statements don't agree: both are non-specific, though.

To my knowledge, ECUTek doesn't support 4/5/6 ECUs, however my knowledge of ECUTEK is rather out of date.
OpenECU can reflash these, however, and as such it looks likely that it can reflash the Facelift (97-2003] ECUs - everyone is just busy doing smoke & mirrors to get to the "How".

What looks doubtful is that the Evo4 can be flashed. And as this is the same processor that is in the PFL VR-4, we're all boned :D

Open to correction again, here, but my understanding was that it was a variant of the OpenECU / ECUFlash projects.

What we really need to do is to persuade John Banks to buy a VR4 :D

Ecutek Supports evo 5-X and have supported the 5-6 long before even ECU flash became available. That article was written in 2005.

Okay, thank you for backing that up with an article: So it will do 5/6.
It still won't do a VR4, and it still costs an absolute fortune for what it is.
