Well I think I may have stumbled on something here!

Yes we have pistons, conrods, camshafts, valve springs already manafactured
for this engine with no problems.
Yes we can supply the components although it woudl take us around 7 - 8
weeks to get allt he items manafactured for you.

> Hi, we at CLUBVR4 (www.clubvr4.co.uk) are in the process of building a
full on Drag vehicle using the 6A13TT engine as a base. I notice that you
are also looking at using one of these engines in your project car.

and Pistons) and if so whether you would be able to supply a set to us here
in the UK.

Hopefully more details will follow in due course! :D

I will take a wild guess at this one, its probably RPW in australia where Ive just bought my clutch from they have a 6A13T drag car. Its no big secret the FTO guys use them all the time, all they do is mitsi tuning parts and they know there stuff.

My VR4 has one of their bored out throttle bodies on it and one of thier clutches. I will be calling on them for the engine internal and head gasket once Im ready for them.

It is RPW, but they are not cheap!

They wanted £1000 for rods and £1000 for pistons :sad3:

Ouch, I will have a word tonight and see what I can get them for ;) Could be time to look round for an alternative supplier. Good thing about RPW is that you dont have to send them the originals to copy...anyone else you probably would.

Forged conrods are in stock. Forged pistons would take around 6 weeks to manafactuer. The conrods are approx $2500.00 AUD$ for a set of 6 forged units (Rated to 150hp per conrod on average) the pistons forged CP brand are around the same price.

Thats about £950 each .... ouch. Could try and get a group buy going...

If this is truly a club drag car, are we going to try to raise some £ through the club? Very difficult to work this of course, but I would be up for putting a fiver in the pot to see a 1000 bhp VR4! :rolleyes5

Do I remember right that this was the 2 door conversion, that did not end well?

Or should I say never ended?

no it was a two engine vr4 , but yes it did all end in tears

It ended in not enough Monetary help.. But even more-so ??

Not enough backup from club members willing to chip in with there time to help the project along....

I don't think it was members weren't to bothered about the project.. I think it was the Club was still mainly in it's infancy and didn't have the plethora of members that we have today!

Also as the club was in it's early years and the location of Project VX, getting along to help could mean many many miles of travelling to help with the project..

If something like this was started again, then i think maybe it might be more successful /yes

Maybe ? Just Maybe ??

Project VX could be reborn /Poms

I'll chip in...

imho the twin engine idea was too ambitious. A lightened coupe however would have cool imho.

I don't mind chipping in a little too.

I think it's a waste of time unless the necessary funds / project management skills were found.
