Hi folks,

Some of you may be aware from other threads that my gearbox is giving me some minor issues at the mo. It's a little jerky and 'stutters' from time to time when under heavy load and when changing gear in fast corners. I've checked the ATF and, although leaking slightly, i have kept it topped up. I'm thinking of having it reconditioned or replaced.

A bit of a search on here didn't really help me much. I don't have any facilities anymore to do the work myself so i'm looking for options. Any advice is much appreciated.

I assume you've already got Amsoil ATF in it?

There were a fair few options regarding fluid discussed in this thread re blackpool kev's gearbox: http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37215

May be useful reading, especially the posts from Amsoil?

The fact that you are leaking ATF is a concern as well. The boxes are sensitive to fluid levels and you may not be keeping the box at the correct level the whole time.

I think i'll get the leak fixed, unfortunately i can't do it myself so i'll stick it in the garage for that. Then i'll do the flush and fill. I just wish i had a good reliable garage or my own space to do it myself!

EDIT: Blackpool Kev's thread was very interesting reading - how did he get on tho? You out there Kev? I work at warton by the way if you wanna compare notes!
