asked the same question a couple of months ago and was advised by many to avoid like the plague. am on the look out again for a legnum with no rush though. i didnt bother taking the long trip there due to the abuse they get. www.lancerregister.com will say the same as will every other jap car forum site.

Im gonna stick up for ktc here. All the bad reports ive read boil down to somebody expecting too much from a used car saleman, IE the truth!!!.

Treat every sale from a used car dealer as a private sale, NEVER EVER expect the car to be 100% as described and take everything with a pinch of salt. I went to KTC wanting the green one, but left with the red one as it was mechanically perfect. OK its a little rough around the edges and since finding its a super and ive bits missing is a minus but a plus at the same time. But im more than happy with my car and wouldnt hesitate in buying a car from there again. As i would treat it as before a private sale and buy with my head not my heart and NOT expect too much for my money.

Also you will ALWAYS pay more at a dealer as they have overheads to recoup but put yer little asian haggling head on and barter him like yer in a flea market in Morrocco!! I got a grand off my car doing that!

My car is a KTC one, bought from there by the previous owner...who was a car salesman!

He haggled aggressively, got it serviced, CHECKED it was serviced, and it's never actually let me down. It seems a touch on the thirsty side, but some VR4s seem to be that way.

Keighley seem to be a bit slap-dash. If you deal with them like a private seller, I expect you'll be fine.

My first vr4 was from KTC and was perfect, so perfect I miss it so much...

Its a simple case of them buying cars cheap, straight on the forecourt... lucky dip... but someone with knowledge will catch the good/bad ones

My mate got a Volvo V70R from there and it turned out to be a total dog!!! the mot it was provided with turned out to be a fake!!! the car had be cleaned inside and out and looked pretty good but when he got home he lifted the rear seats and it looked like a tip! sweets rubbed in to the carpet, wrappers everywhere, i know that's a big deal to most people but i would of hit the rough! then to top it off the engine light cam on and wouldn't go off, when he tool it to a Volvo specialist he just said get shot of it quick! I wouldn't buy F' ALL from that place!!!!
up to you though

Again its just superficial stuff that a £50 valet will fix. The mot issue is a concern though, how did you prove it was a fake and is VOSA aware of the situation, and more importantly have they or are they taking action about it??

With regards to the engine warning light, no mechanic worth his salt would ever advise to get rid of a car did he actually say what was wrong or offer a solution? Was it taken to Volvo for a second opinion?

Battery Tyres belts done brakes and get rid of rust next.

Good for you, mate. I'd take the time to make doubly tripply sure that cambelt has been changed (it should look absolutely brand spanking new if you've just bought it).

Welcome to VR4 ownership :D

Hi to all, I must actually stick up a little for KTC. Yes, SOME of the cars can be a little rough around the edges with a little body and maybe trim parts missing but the prices between the cars of the same model reflect this. It would be advisable for anyone buying a car from anywhere to check it over with a fine tooth comb. When I went there to buy an Evo3 many years back, Shab, the main guy was very accomodating and quite open to me pointing out a few faults and was willing to work with the price. As for the fake MOT, I actually worked in a garage in Blackburn, opposite to where they took their cars to for SVA and MOT testing so can vouch that the tests were genuine. That's just my 2 cents from my experience of KTC. I will be looking for a VR4 very soon when myself and the family move back over to England and will be keeping a close eye on KTC's stock list as I see they have a very nice looking white one.
