dude why did he not change the bearing when doing the clutch ???
to change the release bearing is almost the same time to change the clutch , you just don't need to take the cover plate off , all depends on if you can split the RB from the CP without issues
Not that hard to do but would recomend you get a mate to help ya
Even the local mr Clutch should be able to do one of a 2liter jobby , no need for a main delaer
whats the problem your having??
its a reaccuring problem on low rpm or idle you can hear a rattle around like a lose bolt or some thing
i was told it was the release bearing but the mechanic said he looked at the bearing and it was fine and that it was the clutch , perhaps coincidentally the clutch had gone at the same time , but the clutch was definatly fooked , i have since sold the car on and the opnwers having dramas sayingthe rattling has become alot louder no hes having dramas getting into 3rd
the mechanic was adiment that the bearing was fine
but about 6 different ppl have said the same ,
as you say john , ill take it to a local mr clutch
does it go away when you push the clutch pedal down/in
if so input shaft bearing in the gearbox

Yeah - could well be the input shaft bearing. It's a well known weakness!
