HKS Super Hybrid Panel Filters are a good alternative to a Pod filter ,
less work needed to install .
Just open up your original factory air box and replace the standard filter with this HKS Super Hybrid.

3 Layer Foam ensures all Dirt particals are collected

You do not wash these out or Blow them out when dirty but simply replace the Filter Foam
(It is fine to wash them as it just a foam filter)

Far less restrictive than the OEM Filter hense giving more driver response and power

For the UK buyers, I have found out that we can get these through Sumo Power for £32.98 inc delivery. The delivery time is 4-6 weeks though. I am going to be ordering one soon :D

As in how much gain would you expect to see? At the moment my VR4 has a k&n pod filter which was installed by the old owner, I don't think it helps much though, where it is situated it doesn't look like it gets much cool air. I was thinking of putting the stock air box back in and maybe getting another filter to put in.

Pod filters are not recommended on these cars, unless installed properly. And then its touch and go.

on a dyno, panel filters are proven to be better than a pod filter,
anywhere from 10-20kw differenece (atw) with the standard ecu

pods are **** no matter how its setup (the **** can vary) on a car running a karmen vortex air flow metter, like on our cars.

AM008 is not leg/gal. there is no AM008 according to the box????

its AM004 legnum/galant (8g only) and RVR (97/11 to 2/08)

and thats all the cars it will fit according to the box

seem to make a difference at lower revs when compared to my old pod filter

i have one question though. i put back the airbox which i didnt have (previous owner thrown it away to make space for pod filter). is there supposed to be some rubber seal between front and back part of the box? also, installation instructions for the filter looked a bit too complicated. i just put the filter in, according to the instructions there seem to be some cover or something...

theres supposed to be a rubber seal around the factory air filter that you take off and fit to the hks,

I just picked up one of ebay. The seller is in NZ but it is advertised in aussie dollars, with the exchange rate I got mine delivered to Ch-Ch for around $88. Its another option if there is none left through this thread.

Thanks scooter007. I just picked one up off Trademe for $90 so pretty happy with that. Put it in today but haven't had a real chance to give the old wagon a blast to see how much of a difference it has made. It was through the Redline Performance guys on Trademe. I see he has another one listed now if anyone else is keen on one.
