Finally got round to covering up my rusty brake calipers and hubs at the weekend.
I looked at Hammerite but couldn't see anywhere where heat was mentioned and the fireplace paint was only available in matt black.
So, I took a deep breath and visited Halfords where, for £22.98 you can buy the proper stuff in a weird and wonderful array of colours from black through blue, red to gold and even pink!
I plumped for Black and now the calipers look fantastic.
You have to mix the paint with the hardener and the whole thing goes off almost before you can get it on the paintbrush. You also have to wait 24 hours before driving the car.
Very pleased with the result. Very shiny. We'll see how long it lasts!
