Dear all,

I believe I had posted this ques b4..
It about half a year back..

Have any of your notice that during morning warming up..
There is a white smoke coming out from the tail pipe..

Is it due to down pipe, de-cat or cos I mod the straight through muffer
that resulted this prob?
:(

I thought is the coolant.. but there isn't any level drop..
May thought it is the engine oil.. but still.. remain the same level..

But indeed, one of my turbo (The closer one to the driver side)
has some oil strain along the pipping towards the y-pipe. :(

Is that indicate a worn oil seal turbo? :(
Sign..

Can anyone enlighten me... :(

Thanks
Jason

White smoke during warmup is normal. It's just condensation in the exhaust. As the car warms up, this turns into steam, and hence you get clouds of white smoke appearing.

However, the smoke should stop once the engine is fully warmed up. If it doesn't, then this could be a turbo problem.

Thanks Bro...

Ya.. it will go off once I drive off...

But after travelling a period of time...
and stop to a car park..

If I idling for about 10mins or more..
The white smoke will appear.. :(

Damn.. I'm simply worry it might be the turbo oil seal leakage.
:( sign!!!

That is why.. i'm asking around whether can we upgrade to
3000GTO turbo or not..
cos.. no point purchasing the same model while it can be a time to
upgrade.. :p

Hahaha..

I get white smoke, but I know I have an engine problem. I get the normal cloud when I drive odff in the morning, but also get it during hard gear changes and when accelerating. I am not using vast quantities of oil, but I think it is enough to confuse the lambda sensor into supplying more fuel, the white smoke is likely to be fuel. I assume this as my miles per gallon has fallen dramatically and my exhausts stink of fuel!

As for the turbos, bigger is not always better, but good luck getting the GTO units to fit, there will be some fabrication work to be done!

I am told that excess fuel usually causes black smoke, not white.

When my turbos conked out I had clouds, ( and I mean clouds) of white smoke, and also when the piston broke I had quite a bit of white smoke. Doesn't sound like you've got a big problem, but you may have a bit of oil or water getting in there somewhere.
