Hi Peeps,

I got one of these off of ebay (ebay ROCKS!) and have just successfully had it going on the test bench! :-D

They're just so :-b !!!!

I can't upload a piccie yet, but see here (http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/interior_performance_products/NSX/HKS/) for more information :)

Cool gadget Kieran!!

Does it plug into the MMCS screen & Does it plug into the ECU or the OBD2 port to get all its data?

The bar graph display is very similar to one of the Skyline displays.

/still not sure that I'd call it a CAMP gadget though :-D

The MMCS I've got doesn't have the TV Tuner or related wiring, so I don't think i'll be able to hook it up to the MMCS screen - unless visit Derek's car and take a hacksaw with me! :D

It's output is a simple NTSC composite connector, dead common. :)

It gets data by piggybacking onto your ECU. It doesn't come with a specific harness, but there's only 6 wires to connect and only three of those carry a signal (the other three are a ground, +12 constant and +12v switched).

The following website (Babelfished!) shows installation into a JDM Galant with an 1800GDI motor. Fortunately, having checked and re-checked my service manuals (not that I'm paranoid!) the ECU pinouts for the 2 litre 4G63 ECU are the same as shown here:

Physical connection is here (http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.na.rim.or.jp%2F%7Ekajikawa %2Fgr990220.html&lp=ja_en&intl=1)

And wiring info is here (http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.na.rim.or.jp%2F%7Ekajikawa %2Fconnector.html&lp=ja_en&intl=1)

The auto-translation is a hoot- I love the bit about the "suicide seat"!

I've been lusting after one of these ever since I saw I had the fishtank mode.

Mate has a Cupra and splashed out on a PC cable for it- plugs into the diagnostic socket and gives lots of cute info, both as simulated instruments and logs.

Anyone know if one of these are available for the VR4?

There's only 6 wires to connect - there's a good variety of diagrams on the internet, and there's info in the member's area about ECU pinouts and what wire to connect/splice into which pin :)

Following this with interest Kieran, the CAMP system looks pretty cool - you gonna add some extra sensors to the standard set up ?

No. There is a junction box you can get that allows you to connect a Oil pres, EGT and boost sensor, but I've got another plan for those bits....;)

....Apart from 'Boost', obviously! :$
