As many of you will by now know my cars gearbox made soem delightful crunching noises and no longer has any form of drive.
It is very likley that the broken part is on the input side as the speedo still works when the cars rolling in neutral and the box makes no bad noises.
When the atf was drained a lot of metal shards came out with it. The box is due for removal as soon as the garage can get around to it, as such they havent found the specific fault yet, but they believe it would be best remedied with a new box.
One thing i wanted to check, somebody suggested that it may be my input shaft that has lost its teeth - if this is the case, does this come under a gearbox part?
