Should have kept my mouth shut. No guys I wont be going in sept, its way too much of a drive from Ireland just for a couple of track days.
I drove it in august 2007, 18 hours flat out from dublin. Took me 24 hours to recover when I got there. Had 5 days on the ring then another 18 hours flat out home again.
What with 6 fillups of petrol each way and the 4 ferries, I figure it cost in the region of 1100 euro return.
Last time I went, 8 of us hired a car transporter for 800 euro ahead. We got a very cheap ryanair flight into frankfurt hann, hired 2 cars between us and figured we did the trip for 1000 euro a head.
Believe me its a much more relaxing way to do the ring trip, and you're sure to get your car home come what may./Steeringw
