Hi all, I've been fancying a Galant/Legnum for a while now. Very aggressive front end, what more do I need to say? :D

I'm a member of the SD1 club and I suppose the final tipping point was when one of the lads here posted a pic of a beautiful Legnum VR4 on a SD1 site, I'm a bit skint at the moment due to work troubles so I cancelled the Mondeo V6 idea and changed to a V6 24 Galant (it was cheap, costs little to insure, got plenty of room and goes well enough :D ).

I'm really shocked, the car handles so well (though right hand indicators takes some getting used to lol)... I've got to get a manual VR4 when work picks up again!!

These were straight from fetching the car,so as bought (blue army sticker went a few seconds later lol)

As for my SD1(TP Vitesse) its off the road while I fit a 4.6 and Megasquirt injection... Then maybe a supercharger :satan:

That SD1 Vitesse variety was my dream car when I was at school! Sooooooo yum!

I've an awful memory of a guy who owned a year old one in red, a 1985 'C' reg, just a few doors away from my secondary school. Over the period of a school year he ruined it. He re-sprayed it mid-ocean blue metallic, stuck on after-market bumpers and body kit, plus yuck wheels. At the end it was truly awful.

So lovely to see such a beautiful car in this post!

That brings back fond memories. I had 2 Rovers SD1's a 1979 3.5 litre and a 1982 2.6 (nasty troublesome engine)

The 3.5 V8 was superb to drive.

Welcome to the club.

Great pics /yes

My Dad also had an SD1. It was a 2300 on a C plate. Same colour as yours I think. He bought it when it was 6 months old and then sold it years later and got a 1.6 Orion just so I could get insured on it ... no one would insure a 17 year old on a 2.3 Rover :(

Lovely looking V8

Hi and welome to the club. Is it a twin plenum Vitesse??

Yes, its a Twin Plenum though I've had both intakes bored out to 72mm for better airflow:shocked: I'm not aware of anyone else having done this before.

Rhondda, thats A470 isnt it?

About 10 mins off the 470,I'm actually in the Tonypandy area.just off the A4119
