Hi Paul & welcome, good luck with the search:- body wise rusty front turrets, rotten rear arches and front edge of bonnet inside. if you search through the posts there are several club members cars for sale currently with known history and good specs.

Yes, if I was your way, I would be more than happy to come and tyre-kick with you!
If you have a link to the one you're looking at, we would be pleased to dissect the car from the description and pics! :) Sometimes we can see a lot more than is immediately obvious.
Good luck with the hunt, nonetheless!

That looks like it is in fairly good condition, no visable rust even on the radiator mount screws.

That certainly does look ok. It is of course the 260PS rather than 280PS version, due to it being a tiptronic - but a fairly common mistake though. And easy to 'fix' with a bit of boost control! :D
Towing eye cover is missing, but these are about £40 from Mitsi, in the correct colour. Speaking of which, is Thurston Grey (the bottom bits), over which the rest is Hamilton Silver.
No warning lights on on the dash. Looks pretty standard, and can't really see anything untoward! I'd certainly have a look at that price, and possibly a punt.
Things to check include the colour of the ATF fluid (dipstick between the air intake and battery), which should be nice and red, normally.
