Being new to the site (and still trying to convince the Mrs that we should get a vr4!) I thought I'd mention my little sideline(!) I can offer gold plating of car badges/parts (parts that are already chrome generally look best) You may have seen a guy on Dragons den with some equipment - he was the guy I got my kit from.
Anyway, I've never been into the mods side of cars, but if anyone has any interest, let me know.
Badges can be plated in situ, or if you're not local to me (West Yorkshire) I can plate stuff sent by post!

I hope this is the right place to post this, and I hope it's ok to post this sort of thing.

Seems alright here for the time-being - only thought of VR-4 Area > Customising Your VR4 as a possibility.

Do you have any example pics?

I 've got a couple knocking around, I'll see if I can post them.

If you 'Go Advanced', there is a little paperclip button for managing attachments that brings up a separate window. You can upload files from your PC or a URL here.

Here's a few examples: a 13mm deep socket before and after, and the end of an exhaust can I did for a friend's bike.

How much would it be for you to do my key in gold?

I'd usually charge a minimum of £25. But for this forum, I'll do special rates.

£12 for a key, but please bear in mind that as the key is used, it will wear as it is put in and out of the lock/ignition etc. That said, the plating will last as long as any other gold plated item.

hope this helps.

Not really my thing, but I think 666damned's car would look good with the following gold-plated:

Front VR-4 badge;
Side V6 badges;
Rear VR-4 badge;
Rear GALANT badges;
Rear Mitsi badge;
Tailpipe.

But to go as far as anything else might be a bit much.

Will be nice to see some results though!

Scotty, it's a bit off-topic, but could you gold-plate a chrome bath waste like this one;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400156959829&category=57212&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619

I need one with the high neck, so the waste can go under the overflow pipe, and they only seem to do them in chrome.

Yes I can do chrome - it comes up really well, especially if it's new. I would charge £25 for that - it would normally be slightly more, but for now I'm doing some special deals for you guys on here. It shouldn't need a massive thickness of gold (whereas anything under a bonnet, where it gets hot would!).

Sorry for the delay in replying, I didn't realise this thread had gone onto a second page!!! Duh!

Have you guys got any meets planned in the Yorkshire area? I wouldn't mind coming along and having a nose around, and see what can and can't be gold plated on VR4's (badges etc)
