Here's a few pics of my Galant, bought it recently, not sure if it should have all the spoilerage/vr4 bodykit on it for the model year ('02 GDI) but I ain't complaining!

It's fitted with Tein coilovers and an ultra loud stainless exhaust which I may change for something quieter, apart from that my plans are to wash it and drive it!

Thanks, I really need to replace the passenger side wind delfector, and get an engine cover as well, but I'm very pleased with it so far, it looks the part, it's not bad on petrol and is quick enough for my needs.

I'm quite surprised how responsive it is when using super unleaded, much better than normal 95ron. It's no VR4 performance-wise but I bought it as a change from all the quicker turbo'ed stuff I owned previously.

Very very nice looking Galant there! :sunny: The wheels look fantastic on it.

Someone can correct me if wrong, but that rear spoiler isn't standard! It certainly isn't the same as a VR-4 one.

And yes, the GDI definitely benefits from super unleaded. And will be more economical as it will stay in lean burn mode for longer.

Lovely looking car :)

You just need yourself a towing eye cover for the front bumper, now! ;)

I disagree. It made no difference to economy on mine.

That's exactly what I thought! You're right, Nev, the VR4 covered the whole part of the bootlid's side panels by the glass.

Lovely looking car !

Well aboard, and a nice looking Galant you have too /yes

Surprised no one else has commented, but I think the VR4 (sport type) bodykit may be standard.

:iagree: :iagree: :iagree: :iagree: :iagree: Yep! That's right - on the run out models 2000 > onwards.

It started with the Sport variant before being rolled out to the GDI and the Classic and V6 Elegance, which replaced the GLX and GLS trims.

Mitsubishi did all sorts of odd things. There are 2003 model cars with the non-sport facelift bumper, for example: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MITSUBISHI-GALANT-2-5-V6-AUTOMATIC-SALOON_W0QQitemZ120452423807QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAut omobiles_UK?hash=item1c0b86207f&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

So, "standard".... hard to say really.

Basically, if there's some combination of parts that will fit together, mitsubishi probably sold one that way.

and an ultra loud stainless exhaust

This thread is worthless without SOUNDBITES /Hyper

I am very inquisitive to hear what a GDi engine sounds like with a Larrrrrrd Exhooust

Nice looking car by the way :beerbang:

I must post up a youtube vid of the noise of the thing, it's almost too loud at times, and can get on the nerves on longish runs. I'm not entirely sure it gives no performance benefit either!

Thanks for all the comments everyone, I wasn't sure the rear spoiler was standard as I've seen Equippe models on ebay etc. with no rear spoiler.

Just out of interest, is the front towing eye cover easy to come by? I wasn't even sure what that centre section actually covered to be honest!

The front towing eye covers are available from the main dealer for about £40, in the correct colour. :)

And yes, we're fairly sure that spoiler is off something else - but goodness knows what!
