To achieve better times than I have done this weekend I need to make an upgrade to

my brakes! :rolleyes5

The car was creeping at 2000rpm at the start due to the "Castle Coombe" effect, this prevented the traditional hard launch at 3000rpm and meant I was a fraction down at 60ft........next time!!! :-b

Err sorry new to this 1/4 mile stuff - is that the technique for an auto - keep it in D and rev to 3000?

Does the tranny like that? :-D

err........... no !! the transmission is not keen on this sort of abuse, but we all came back unscathed !!
I think Dave & my boxes took more abuse at castle coombe than at the pod ?? we both came of the track with warning lights flashing, I mine was stuck in 3rd gear !! :$

23 POD launches so far, as well as many practices at the lights on my private test track.

I am sure the box dosn't like it too much, but so far no big grumbles! Even Derek used this method with a BIG transmission leak!

Not planning to drag in the Legnum 1.8 GDI to be honest. You guys will be pleased to hear the Mitsi tip box has a faster change compared to my skyline tiptronic.

BDA, what power are you running to get 13.5 qtr miles?

I dyno'd at 278 on 5 cylinders (ooops) so probably about 330, but I had a 44BHP sqirt of nitrous this weekend. Dont think the car was on top form and there are a few tenths left with my current set up. :D

:thumb1: nice! Ah you don't mention the nitrous in your signoff. Is it a 4WD? My skyline is 2WD with 307 at the flywheel so I think you'd av me. Mental note not to face off with a Galant/Legnum.

Christ, this is an Auto WAGON - and its catching up RAPIDLY to the manual sedans - i use a 5500 - 6000 clutch drop to get these times too...

Bring on the single turbo i think :sad3:
