i have 4 weeks before it runs out so no desperate worries and i am going to get it done at the end of the week. the problem? cat leaking heavily. cost, £255 including VAT which i think is reasonable. no other issues even as observations (last year the only observation was the cat having a mnor leak. even the silvatach bulbs went through no probs

You done well there - even with a almighty ding in the wing.

Mine needed a new brake hose and CV gaiter for last week's MOT - £130 + VAT (including fitting). Not too bad.

it has quite a few dings but for that kind of money for a 9 year old galant, i bit the guys hand off. a trader on a website i never really looked at before. pure luck and even luckier than i thought since it only failed on one thing and there are no observations this year. these cars just keep giving smiles

it finally arrived and it was fitted and retested. MOT, part, fitting and retest = £300 and thats it now until 1st sept 2010

Good news - I always find it a relief when the MOT is over. :)

tell me about it. i have tax to buy at the end of the month but thats a fixed rate. you never know how much the MOT will cost and i had to get it out of the way early as i have a party conference to attend in southport on 3rd - 5th sept. tax, MOT and a 3 day trip all in the same pay week? OUCH!
the next one will be a service but since halfords want £23 PER PLUG, that wont be cheap either. i should really get the oil changed before the trip so i might do that separately. it is a bit on the black side

£23per plug !! A set of 4 plugs is ~ £50 for the Iridium tipped ones. But the fuel filter is £40!

Decided to have new rear discs, as they were an Advisory for the MOT - I think they are the originals - so the car is going in tomorrow for them.

Get onto www.sparkplugs.co.uk and you should be looking at closer to £40 for a set of four.
