it'll also raise it as vr4 springs are designed for extra weight.
if you go through caps/asa you will see misti used different springs/combos for each variation
my 25st (v6 4wd) does not use the same springs as my VR4,
and with the vr4 springs in the 25st it sits at least 1 inch higher.

they should fit and work ok,
but mitsi still currently have at least 2 different part numbers for front damper on the ec5w chassis. (there was alot more but they have been superseded by the remaining two)

so 2001 v6 galant would fit and work ok then ? :uhoh:

yes, to the above. (but this depends on what springs it came with, some people have legnums that are way higher than the norm)
you can use legnum/galant dampers (turbo or not) all round, it will be fine,
its mostly the springs that change/matter, you cannot use saloon springs in an estate the arse end will drag (way to soft)
but you can change the between N/A and turbo, as long as its the same (eg. estate for estate springs) just the ride height will vary
