hi i work for a company that make performance bush's and was wondering if there would be any intrest in a kit for the vr4? if so let me know and if theres enough intrest i'll see what i can do. also am i right in thinking that they're the same as the evo's?

They are completely different from an EVO sorry, we run a much more complicated setup than an EVO with multilink front and rear.

There is a kit available from the USA for the Mitsi Eclipse which is about 90% compatible with the VR-4's, but I think there are a few bits missing.

I'm sure that a kit would be very well received.

there is also a requirement for motor mont bushes

http://www.prothane.com/motor_mount.php
prothane part number for the motor mounts required have a look on there web site:-
Right Upper=13-503 (eclipse V6 00-05)
Left Upper=13-509 (eclipse V6 00-05)
Front roll stopper=13-505 (eclipse 90-94)
rear roll stopper=13-508 (eclipse V6 00-05)

what sort of cost could you do them for.
front and rear anti roll bar bushes as well would be nice to have. but i don't have the measurment for them.

I always wondered if there was a market for VR4 proper race nylon/aluminium or spherical bearing bushes, get to rid of the rubber/poly bush altogether..

Not only do I need a set of engine mounts (as per Davezj's post above) but I also have three customers who I know want this done. So if you can supply the parts for less than they cost from the states, I can guarantee you I would buy four sets, and price depending, I'd buy some more for stock.

However I willl be going back to sea for 4 months in October so doubt the turnaround would be in time but I would still be interesed (at the right price) in February.

i am interested in the cost quoted for the engine mounts as i have a very good price for a the correct engine mounts that fit all of the standard VR4 mount cases (including the front rool stopper) i have worked this out with a supplier. i have ordered the bits i need for my car at no discount to me but just make sure it is all correct. Then and only then i can open it up to the rest of you guys.
i am interested to see what price they come back with. as it will have to be a very ggod price to beat the one i have i am obviously not going to reveal the price i can get them for until YIPYIP show his hand.
and the price i originally poated in another thread is nowhere near what they came done to when i asked about a group buy of 15 -20 sets.
we shall see.

davejz please reveal! i would be very intrested in some myself as i know we're not the cheapest ( but we are the best lol).
p.s. please note i only cast the bushs and normally don't go near the office's so they could just laugh at me and send me on my way!lol

hi

I drive the prothane suspension kit in a eagle talon (eclipse) and it is really hard, i must turn the KW shocks almost completely to soft, to have a little bit spring deflection.

It runs fairly strong and accurate, but its very sensitive to small bumps. you can feel every little stone on the road.

I think the suspension kit from the eclipse fits in the vr4 only the bushes on the rear sub frame doesn't fit.

Hi and welcome to CVR4. Yes we had heard the prothane kit is very hard and for that reason the kit by energy suspension is the preferred choice.

hi if we were ever to get a kit developed it would be available in 3 hardness's 85A 75A and 65A. sport to comfort. im guessing the kit you've got is probably between 80-90A which is great for track use but not very practical. 75A is the best for road use offering better feel and wont break your back!
p.s. have you got your old bush's still? with them i could start working on the kit :-)

I haven't fitted the new kit yet

would there be any chance i could have the bush's you remove please or photo's and a few basic measurements? and what would be great is if you can photograph and list the bush's you haven't been able to re-place, if you can do this and if i can get the kit to be cast i'll make sure you get the bush's to complete your kit.

thanks

It would be easier if I sent you the kit I have rather than the old ones

I know this is a thread for the past but just wondered if anything got sorted in the end by anyone? I've seen the AWD eclipse kits from the US but I want to replace everything. Literally every bush, even if it ruins the car for road use :)

Not on my part. The ones I needed in order to put my car back together I got made locally out of the same material as the OEM ones but never replaced any of the others (yet)
