Hi folks, got myself a Galant VR4 last Friday, it is the car I have always wanted, had three other galants in the past, 2.0L hatchback, 2.5 V6 24 valve hatchback, and the last one was the V6 sport, all great cars to drive but nothing compared to my latest purchase. I can't help but grin every time I get behind the wheel, awsome power.

I live in Oldmeldrum, near Inverurie. I would be keen to meet you guys to discuss a niggle that I have, when I bought the car the drivers side front and rear brakes have been fitted with Yellow Brembo callipers but not on the passenger side. I would have thought that they come in pairs for front or back. Any idea where I can get the same again, I have tried searching the web buthave not been successful.

Now that IS obscure! I think it classifies as one of the strangest queries we've seen!

Do you have any pictures of the calipers?

Ahh, this one was posted up a week or so ago and was it noticed that the brakes were different colours on each side of the car!

Can you post pics Ian? Brembos arent straight forward to fit on Pre facelifts (1996 - 1998/9) , facelift - post 99 cars are easier and straight forward.

Doenst make sense to fit to just one side (and potentially dangerous too!) They may just be painted standard calipers with decals or caliper covers.

Pics will have all the detail for one of us to advise you.

Missed that bit Atik!

Very odd indeed - but I might assume that these are therefore one and the same?

If it was brembos on one side only would'nt the car pull as the breaking would be more on one side?

On closer inspection it would appear that they are the original callipers that have been painted and the Brembo decal stuck on. Not being mechanically minded how would I remove and paint the ones on the passenger side. Are we talking days to do this?

Pretty much, the more time you spend, the better the results will be.

I think you have bought the car that has been dicussed on some of the threads on here. that car had yellow calipers on one side. there can't be too many cars with that configuration of brakes.

let me look.

Edit:-
yes found the thread. if you really want to view it, search on "yellow calipers" you will find it.
I know i haven't put the link in, i have my reasons.

Edit2:-
Where are my manners, Hi and welcome to the club. you will enjoy it. full membership is worth it's weight in Amsoil (you will get this reference later when you sevice you car).
