I came across this auction, this afternoon as well. Looks good but 15K's too much, I would rather buy Q's for 10K.

Personally for me it's one of the best I've ever seen.

It looks nice, but not 15K nice!

Nowhere NEAR worth $15k - especially with that colour.

Nowhere NEAR worth $15k - especially with that colour.

Agreed. It looks absolutely horrible! And the mods don't even come close to adding up to enough to warrant a price like that. Not to mention the pod filter and I'm betting the BOV is VTA.

Ironically, it's the legnum that doesn't suit the mods.....drape that paint job and those mods on a coupe and it would look great, but it doesn't suit a wagon at all! Especially the legnum.

Ahh, I've seen that car in palmerston north a few times now :) Those wheels look absolutely amazing on it.

They also haven't spared any money on the mods, that is an expensive little shopping list there.

Pity when I stayed in Palmerston North I wasn't into Leggies/Galants.

sorry but i think it looks horrid due to the red brembos under the black wheels then the green and blue bodywork. do the front caliper the rear body colour and the rear calipers the front body colour bit not red. or just paint them black. the red just totally spoils the whole result.

Other than the sexy wheels, which fill the arches very well... this is a very good example of a ****ing ugly face lift.. Oh My GOD!! I wanna puke at the sheer sight of it. The colour scheme highlights all the bits I dislike about facelifts.. mainly the front bumper and boot :P hahah

And I agree with Brad, that's had a whee bit spent on it, but I would not shell out 15k for it.

Yuck! Why not paint it lime green o_O

definatly rather spend ten k on Q's car and have 5k to spend on forged internals, but i guess it was painted for promotional/advertising purposes, a nice pearl white or black and it would look nice, its already got the basics (teins, intercooler, rims. )

If you actually look at the mods 15K is probably fair enough. The only thing holding it back is the paint. I mean It has a REALLY rare bov

I'd still buy Williams car over that.. Iv touched 2 ex mag turbo cars and the paintjob was quick and shoddy hard edged blending and overdosed in the boot

low_vr4
01-10-2010, 09:04 PM
ive got a mate who can do a perky for me, for the moment i can live with the paint job. Eventually will get it done gloss black. Williams is an amazingly nice car but no suspension upgrades when i really wanted adjustables. Got a quote for Tein super flex wagons and they were gonna cost me $2895 installed without cert :o plus the mag and turbo one has a 5 star AVS alarm

We are doing a group buy on teins soon mate

05-10-2010, 09:00 AM
around about how much? id have to get them installed to + cert

taylor
05-10-2010, 09:50 AM
Installation is 3/8 fcukall and cert before you go for warrant.

looking at just over $1500 hopefully

low_vr4
05-10-2010, 09:39 PM
Ok so they are $1500 just to buy? without the cost of installation or cert?

Adam.Findlay
05-10-2010, 10:06 PM
we ane not 100 percent on price yet but the more people the cheaper it is, and cert is only 350ish i think, and there will be plenty club members happy to helo you install them, i know i would if you were in chch

low_vr4
05-10-2010, 10:32 PM
If someone could help me install them that would be great! Im going crazy at the moment trying to decide which Vr4 to buy. The major for me is adjustable suspension and got a quote from mag and turbo for $2895 without cert and i simply do not want to pay that much. I am tossing up between williams one and the mag and turbo one on trademe. hmmm what to do! Williams one doesnt have adjustable suspension but the mag and turbo one does.

djb160
05-10-2010, 10:37 PM
You can get a better known history on Williams one. That mag and turbo one has nearly halved in price since it originally got posted.

low_vr4
05-10-2010, 10:39 PM
yea exactly, been trying to find out as much about them as possible! the mag and turbo one had its cambelt done at 60kz( i have no proof thou) and never had the water pump done.

djb160
05-10-2010, 10:40 PM
I'd give a lot for the Type S BOV though, if I had a turbo still.

low_vr4
05-10-2010, 10:50 PM
You would give alot? as in pay for?

djb160
05-10-2010, 11:24 PM
yeah, they're not exactly common and not in production any more. It produces a 'love/hate it' type of sound although it seems to vary a lot depending on car and setup.

If you've seen the high octane series you'll have heard it but perhaps not known what it was.

low_vr4
05-10-2010, 11:30 PM
are GFB blow off valves any good?

djb160
06-10-2010, 01:56 AM
but like I said it depends on car and BOV setup. From rumor the green car from F&F-1 has the same BOV and it sounds a fair bit different.

low_vr4
06-10-2010, 02:06 AM
i just want mine to do its job and sound loud, hopefully the one i get can be adjusted

djb160
06-10-2010, 02:27 AM
ah so you'd be wanting to swap the BOV for a GFB Deceptor type?

low_vr4
06-10-2010, 02:32 AM
Well the VR4 im looking at buying, comes with a GFB bov already. just not sure what one

djb160
06-10-2010, 02:41 AM
The Deceptor and deceptor pro allow the ratio of venting and plumback to be controlled which is pretty cool.

I already talked to them apparently its been serviced inhouse at M&T and cam belt was done about 50k-km ago *lemme check my email* Here we go...
"The cambelt was done by the previous owner (who we knew) when he bout it at approx 60,000ks so still not due for a while yet"

but in my offering i said to them that the paintjob will set me back some 4k... I will let ya know what my offer was if they say no... and if they say yes I will say what it was after buyign it.

yea i went and had a look at it, what sux is your only going by his word that the cambelt has been done (no sticker under bonnet and cant see it) They guy said it was done at 60,000kz which seemed odd. I offered him 7,500 and he said yes.

Oh, where the blue meets the green it is hard edged not soft. Was told the paint job was done in a rush. feels like a sticker. Rims are nice thou. few bits of paint missing on the front too

I offered less.. not much less but still.. not worth 7500 to me... how long ago did you offer?

worse comes to worse I can wait for another vr4.

the paint job does absolutly nothing for me... stickers would have to come off tho.

why does doing the cambelt at 60k seem odd? You are suppose to do it at 100k or 5 years

It hasnt got any stickers on it anymore, i offered him that about a month ago. went for a test drive. Went ok i guess.

I dunno i was thinking why do it 40,000kmz early for a car that barely gets driven and not put a sticker under the hood.

Good god!!! i just been looking at catchign a bus or plane towards balclutha and there is no way in hell i am doing that lol. catchign a plane is bad enough let alone bussing it.

I might hold off on buying a leggy till the new year when EVERYONE is a broke ass and they need money more badly.

see how it goes. and as i said, I am in no rush to buy a lemon :), on that note. would love to get my grubby mits on gly's wagon BUT... bit beyond my means right now.

While that one is a good price it looks to be quite messed with. In some of the pics it's on mis-matched rims and I don't know what's up with the wheel fitment - the rims up front sit right in while the rims at the rear are flush (hella flush haha).

don't take carjam for gospel, all they do is report what is down in the NZTA database, which the figures are manually entered in by whoever did the WOF inspection, or in most cases the secretary of the business - there's an element of information to get corrupt as it makes its way into the database. If you follow the line on the graph you will see it's more than likely 81,000 was entered in instead of 51,000.
