I own a Mitsubishi Galant VR4 Rally Art. 2498cc engine, twin turbo. 2002 51 plate. 20k ish miles on the clock. One other owner plus me from new. I am trying to find out how much the car may be worth with a view to possibly selling it. Can anyone help, please e-mail me?? This is the first time i have used this website so please tell me if i am doing anything wrong or you need more information.
Thanks

Like anything - it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Not being negative, but speak to Nick Mann who has been trying to sell his low mileage Y reg Legnum VR4 for some time for £12 - £13k and had no luck so far. These cars have a limited buying market due to the lack of public knowledge of them.

Find the right person and it's worth £14 - £15k as Mark said, get desperate and you may find yourself asking for £12k :(

Good luck if you decide to sell, but in the meantime can you post up some pics on here for us ?

I have had several people interested. One person was willing to pay the £13,750 asking price, but couldn't get finance (he was self employed). One person in particular has beaten me down to the lowest price yet and is coming to look at it on saturday. I shall remain hopeful!

Have a look on the mitsubishi website - there is one dealer selling a 2001 VR4 for £16995. There has been a 2001 fresh import up at a Japanese import garage for £9,995. The person interested in mine wants a low mileage car with history, though, so the £10k car is not as interesting to him as mine.

It all comes down to the fact that it is a rare car, and the problem is finding the person who wants it. Not many people pick up the autotrader thinking 'I want a VR4'!

Either way, good luck with the sale!

That's why I like it. The anonymity [sic]

I am looking to buy a VR-4 at the moment, I have done a little homework and so far have discovered that the estate versions go for: -

1996 = <£7k
1997 = <£8k
1998 = <£9k
1999 = <£10k
2000 = <£11k
2001 = <£14k
2002 = <£17k

Trust this helps, if yours is an estate and you decide to sell, drop me a line.

Regards

Hello Steve!

Glad you've joined up. Hope you get what you are looking for! No more news on mine until tomorrow lunchtime.

Good pricing info, though. Looks to be about right although I think you may have the 2001 models priced a bit low? :$
