I'm thinking about getting a car radio aerial booster - a small inline booster that sits just before the aerial lead going into the back of the car stereo.

There are powered 12V ones and non-powered ones.

Has anyone any experience of such things? Here are a couple:

I've a particular radio station which is slightly out of my area that I listen to in the car. On some days, with the atmostpherics, the signal is ok-ish others it is poor - drifting. I was thinking if I spent a tenner or so getting one and self fitting it it may help?

When I listen to the same station in newer cars, the signal is far better in my area - maybe because my set it 10 years old? I would get a new one, but I love this particular stereo and set up.

I tried one of these but all it did was boost the interference. Are you sure the built in antenna amplifier power supply is connected. If you're using the built in one that is. I guess it's worth a try if not.
