Im puzzled as to how to fit an aftermarket single din stereo in my legnum, ill have to post a pic of the mess the last owner left it in, there are wires everywhere they even took all the speakers out so im going to have to buy those too. I just dont see how the stereo cage fits.

BY the looks of that you will need to go to halfords and buy a female iso conector with the stripped wires at the end. Match them up with the wires that are there now. so +ive to +ive speakers ignition etc etc.

Not sure if there is a stereo wiring diagram on the site though for colour coding. Hopefully someone knows of one.

I have had to do this in the past, just make sure you have good conections, i always use bullet connectors in case i make a mistake, Put females on the car wiring and males on the new loom. That as you can just unplug and swap them about rather than have to cut and resolder/heatshrink everytime.

Yes you are missing them. Put a shout out on the buy/sell page - someone might have one. They also appear on ebay but often they're stupidly priced.

Yes you'll definitely need the radio brackets. With these you can fit a 1 DIN stereo at the top or the bottom of the 2 DIN hole (stereo screws into brackets) - see photos for examples.
It's a fiddly job getting the radio and brackets in there because the brackets screw on to other brackets at the back of the 'hole'.
You can also get one of those universal fit DIN pockets to fill the other (empty) DIN space but make sure it's got mounting holes for screws on the side. You'll see what I mean when you have the brackets. I assembled the whole thing before fitting it all to the car which allows you to check it does actually fit.
As long as the ISO connector wires have been cut after where it plugs into the car (i.e. no wires cut from the original car wiring) you'll be OK and may just need a standard ISO connection diagram to tell you which colour wire from the ISO plug is which speaker etc. These diagrams are on the net.
The whole process will be a bit of a PITA job but nothing too difficult.

Gotta be worth a punt with one of the 'Breaking' threads. I imagine quite a few of these have headed off to the crusher over the years.
