I'm interested in this item for the RVR - anybody had any experience with these?

And just to clarify - first dibs! With any luck the starting price could be the winning bid price... :deal2:

Actually, I may have changed my mind, and this one may be the preferred option, being a bit newer!

Any thoughts on either of these? Being Blitz items, I expect that they are probably quite decent?

Nev, the only difference is in the solenoid. The DSBC spec S is the single solenoid and the spec r being the dual solenoid.

The dual is a good bit better at preventing spikes and general control. They are pretty damn good and simple to use. I had one in the skyline and if your after a decent, cheap, reliable user friendly EBC they are definately one i would recommend

Thanks Gowf!

Although from what I can see, both of the ones I've listed are dual-solenoid ones?

But, yes, you've hit the nail on the head with the EBC requirements there! /yes

Careful Nev, just because it says "Dual SBC" it does not mean it's dual solenoid. As Gowf says, the Spec S is single solenoid and the Spec R is dual solenoid.

The JD had a Spec S in it and it was great. Easy to use, and hidden nicely in that little pocket by your right knee.

I know that the Spec R is better at controlling boost, though. So, when I have the cash, I will be buying a Spec R for mine.

As Wayne said they are both called dsbc, but in your defence now that i actually opened the links, they are indeed both dual solenoid but they are also both the older models (the first one being from the days of the arc).

So out of the 2, get the 2nd one

How can you tell the second one is dual solenoid Gareth?

Is it because the solenoid box is bigger?

As long as it does the job!

Time to get sniping...

Then to think about boost settings... /Hmmm

Stock is running 0.8 bar, so maybe LO at 1.0 bar, and HI at 1.2 bar (Ben said 1.2 bar is fine on these!).

Oh yes, and a clutch at some point... /pan

Perhaps later on - I understand that further work would be required to keep it safe/working. 1.5 bar RVR though... /woot2

The one I went to see was running 1.2 bar too which explained the millenium falcon style acceleration.. 1.5 bar should be entertaining. They are such a cool cars.

I've just noticed that the seller has spelled 'controller' wrong - hopefully will improve my win chances!! :D

My win chances are decreasing. Currently at £92. The earlier one went for about £115.

I suppose it's worth paying up to £150 for a decent used EBC - that does what we want it to!

A successful eBay adventure, bidding a maximum of £150 in the last 6 seconds.

And getting it for £148! Damn that other late bidder - could have been cheaper...

But still... :deal2: - best get the readies out!
