hey i just brought a 1993 galant vr4 what can i do to the engine to get the max out of it

First up, make sure it has good oil in it, and it's clean. Then check the plugs and replace with new ones if needed, preferably Iridium ones all round, but you really should run them on the rear bank.

Secondly exhaust and down pipes need to be increased in size and made to flow better.
