I am a bit distressed at the names my family and friends are giving to 'my baby'. The latest is 'the hearse' (fair cop I suppose, given its a VR4 est with tinted back windows). The "pimpmobile" and the "dopedealer" have been other highlights.

The only uplifting thing I have found is that the most uncomplementary titles seem to come from people whose cars are much more expensive and/or slower than the VR4!

I think I'll just get a coffin, a few flowers and make a bit of money out of it.

Anyone got other cute names?

They are all just jealous that their own cars are so f**king boring that no-one even bothers to call them anything ...... apart from sh1t

Just Galant and VR-4 or the two together.

I find the name Numleg highly amusing for some strange reason though, having the saloon myself, it's just VR-4. :-b

But how about "Legspread" for Legnum? At least better than "Pimpmobile", and if you are in the ladies mode that name is pretty fitting. :pimp2:

I get "Gaylant" or "****subishi"

This is from a Diesel mondeo driver who has bad eyesight, weighs a few hundred pounds and only ever sees my motors rear end for a couple of seconds. Yes hes my boss and i think its a jealousy thing...

-Old post revival.

My buddies constantly call it the Gaylant. -Should have seen that one coming Mitsubishi!

But I can give as good as I get -

Car my buddies drive: Ford Gay (Focus ST), Alfa romgayo (GTV V6), faguar (XJS) etc...

Its probably every guys responsibility to come up these kinda names for their buddies cars.

On our recent trip to France we had in convoy;

A new CTR - Nicknamed 'The Reebok'
A new Boxster S - Nicknamed 'The Yarr Car' after the yuppy that drives it.
A Jag XKR - Nicknamed... nothing in fact, Dave-o that owns it was a big NZ'er who could accept any ribbing of himself, his country or his job, but don't attack his V8.
A 306 Type-R - Nicknamed 'The Noisy Go-Kart'
An A2 1.4 TDi - Which didn't get a nickname, it was just the butt of most car related jokes all weekend
And the old mans VR-4, which performed admirably and ended up being referred to as either 'The Beast' or your car what drinks alot.

And to update this thread again, my current one is called 'Ariadne' - This one's definetly a girl.

The Golf got his name from the Thomas the Tank Engine series - Skarloey is a little red engine that's about 100 years old and generally knackered, but still tries very hard!

The Legnum or the Leggie in the real world. Throbbemobile II on VW forums. Amusingly, Mrs Throbbe mispronounced it Mr Bushy recently. That may stick.
