Is this not another repeat. Not the one where they take three big cars down a dream road in Switzerland are something. One of them as a right uncomfortable Aston Martin. These guys need to start to broaden their horizons. A make over could be in line for these guys as well judgeing by the picture in our TV paper, scruffy buggers.

Also available for the first time in HD!

Top Gear is one of the best filmed/edited shows on TV right now, and the move to HD is long overdue!

Well, fun for all of 5 minutes being able to watch cars I'll never be able to afford. I'd sure as hell love to take my VR-4 down that road (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transfăgărăşan) though /rally

How much fun did the tunnels in the peoples palace look & the road at the end did'nt look bad eather.

Awesome tunnels and that road at the end, WOW! Forget the Ring trip next year, Romania anyone? LOL

And a purely coincidental fact for you. I was on a long boring drive this evening when my mind wandered to think of the cars I'd buy if I won the lottery. I decided upon three cars that I would own; a Skyline R34 GTR, keep my current VR4 and a BMW 760IL. How wierd is that?
And another Top Gear coincidence that I experience a while back. Does anyone remember the Vauxhal Bathurst or whatever episode when they revied the white super-quick Vauxhall. Well, as that episode was shown on air, I was on another long drive when I came across one! I didnt 'play' with it but wished I had after I saw the episode. The driver and I both played cruise overtaking for about 50 miles of the M6 then he turned off onto the M5.

Anyway, random life story over! LOL

In 1989 my Elan was briefly used as a backdrop for a Top Gear article from Donnington.

LONGEST SHOT EVER:
Don't suppose anyone has an old VHS recording of it? I asked on LotusElan.net a year ago to no avail.

Yep - I'm still enjoying TG :)

Funniest thing about TG though are all those folks on car forums that watch it week in week out and slag it off - turn it off you plonkers !!!

I think the TG team are wise to that and surely have some fun trying to bait one make owners clubs by using, abusing and trashing their particular one make wonder. Superb stuff.

Did anyone press the red button and do T/G quiz? If so what did you get. Mine was 10/10.

I'm puzzled :speechles Why take the chassis of a TVR, the batteries and motor from a milk float, and make a body out of tin and wood to fit over it ... when they could have just used the milk float! /pan ;)

Turbo_Steve
23-11-2009, 09:50 PM
Why not just use the body of the TVR?

I suspect because it wouldn't have been as funny. And there would be no room for the generator. And it was meant to be compact.

Better than last week's show for me.

RWD all the way (I want that Lambo !) - see you are missing so much :)

Mind you I like the VR4 in the winter (if Jane lets me use it !!!) :)

And fair play to Chris Evans - we were lucky enough to see his magnificent 7 Ferraris at the Festival of Speed earlier this year. He's one lucky blighter !
