Hey All,

Just thought I would join your site.

I currently own a 2000 Galant that is more like a bitsumishi than a mitsubishi :dizzy2: , it is a 1.8 Ltr Manual 5 Spd 4wd Galant GDI with the VR4 body.

Modifications done to it are:
-> 17" TSW Rocket 4 Rims
-> King Springs (superlow but due to being a VR4 body, doesn't lower fully on just springs)
-> 2 1/2" exhaust from the flexi with a SuperFlow Muffler
-> JDM Carbon Taillights
-> K&N 4" Inlet Pod Filter

The only other thing I have done was installing a stereo system (from memory):
-> Sony Ipod/USB/CD Headunit
-> Sony 4 CH Amp @120 Watts RMS @2 Ohms
-> 4x Sony 6 1/2 4-Way component speakers 75 Watts RMS
-> Sony Mono Block Amp @500 Watts RMS @2 Ohms
-> Sony 12" Subwoofer, 380 Watts RMS @2 Ohms
-> 1.2 Farad Capacitor

/EDIT: Personalized plates = KNUTZ :D

Currently in the process of buying a Triptronic 1996 Legnum VR4. Managed to sell my Galant to pay for the Legnum.
Looking forward to picking it up and spending some quality time installing the above stereo system again and of course my K&N Air Filter (they cost too much!):d.

Will add some photos to my profile/this post as soon as I can (in about 4 hours).

Lose the pod filter though. You're going to want a high-flow panel one for the VR4

Why not just use the K&N Pod?

The MAF is a very sensitive piece of equipment and pod filters disturb the airflow to your MAF and result in poor fuel economy and loss of power.

Because they don't work and cause bad fuel economy, lose power and simply aren't designed for the car.

As above, we did back to back runs on Speedtech's dyno on Wynn's car and he effectlively lost 20kw with a pod...

Oh and welcome. :)

That info could make ya :sick2:, /thankyou for the info.

Hmm...will be selling the POD then.
Lucky I only paid $70 for it instead of the $350 or whatever at Repco!

I'm based in Wellington (NZ) and hopefully picking up my new toy this weekend! /Devil5

The only problem with the whole POD thing is it's already been changed to a cheap 'n' nasty one.
Will see if the guy still has the original setup for now...until I can get a setup like bradc /lol

Otherwise I could always keep the galant's box setup? Should be the same correct?

The box in the Galant will have a smaller neck and while it will probably fit onto a VR-4 it won't be as good as the real VR-4 item.

The only real difference I think is the snorkel and where it joins the box. Someone else on here replaced the snorkel with flexible foil tubing, routed to front of the car somewhere, perhaps you could do something similar with the galant box?
