My question is that the standard Legnum VR4 suspension will fit the Galant 2.5 estate?

I think so. But I'm not 100%. But the springs will be a bit stiff and your ride height will potentially be even higher.

I've been led to believe the ARB's from a VR4 won't fit a fwd Galant

The shocks and springs will fit in fine, although the spring ratio may be different.

8G Galant FWD / 8G Galant 4WD / 2G Eclipse FWD / 2G Eclipse AWD - same thing! ;) Btw, 7G Galant Fronts will match too...

Yes but I don't think anybody has tried yet and I've been told the front will foul and the rear has different mounting location

The Suspension from a VR4 will fit on any other Leggy or Galant. But as already posted, if on Standard springs will be high. Still don't think it will be as high as a GLS though /Hmmm

With lowering springs it will be ok.
Had VR4 shocks and Spax lowering springs on Mrs Wodjies Legnum Gdi. It looked good, though the ride was firm, it wasn't bone shaking. And certainly softer than the Tanabe's that took off.. It use to bounce along on them ..
I then fitted the Tanabe's to my Original Silver VR4.. The handling was awesome :D And it no longer bounced as the extra weight of the VR4 damped that out perfectly /yes

Cheers

Wodj :D

The VR-4 anti roll bars wll fit onto other 4wd 8G's. I know that isn't much help though as all of the UK delivered cars were 2wd!

The front subframe is different on the 4wd/2wd cars. Presumably to allow the transfer box a bit of space into the transmission tunnel. The VR4 ARB goes over the top of the transfer box, so I guess that is why it won't fit on a 2wd car.

I've tried,the VR4 ARB's deffinitely will NOT fit the 2wd Galant estate.

Thanks for all opinions and comments.

Job done!VR4 standard shocks with RS*R lowering springs fitted to Galant 2wd.Works great, much better handling, better stability on cornering.
